Bespoke treatments
Healing Touch offers therapies to provide you with a sense of deep relaxation and tension release.
Reiki Seichem With A Hot Stone Foot Wrap
Reiki Seichem energy healing is now widely used across the NHS as a complementary treatment and it has been practised since Ancient Egyptian times.
Energy healing is receiving the life force energy Chi ~ which is flowing through all of us and which formed everything in Nature. into your energy field ~ or aura, and your energy centres ~ Chakras.
Some people call this life force energy God, or Univeral energy or cosmic consciousness but it is not limited to a religion, or name.
When we are stressed and tense our Chi flow is weak due to blockages in our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical bodies.
Chi energy re energises auras and in many cases has completely healed disease.
We all carry old traumas and current anxieties locked inside of us but once we find ways to calm the nervous system we can recover well.
Combining massage with Reiki Seichem means double the bliss!
The treatment
Hot stones are warmed to a safe comfortable temperature and have curved edges which are great for releasing tighter muscles, and a smooth surface to glide along oiled skin.
You will lie face down to start with and I will place two heated stones above the towel on your back.
One between your shoulder blades and the other between your hips.
This feels grounding.
I will massage the backs of your legs initially using Swedish massage techniques and then using the gentle weight of the stones to transfer heat and extra pressure deep into muscles and fascia so they relax.
Next I massage your back and shoulders with different sized stones and I will also spend time concentrating on any knotty areas.
I will ask you to turn over and place one stone on your heart chakra and another on your solar plexus.
A small stone on a cotton pad over each eye and a final one on your third eye chakra.
I then massage your feet and towel wrap them against warm stones.
~
I will pause to wash my hands and offer you an extra cover and pillow before I start the Reiki Seichem treatment.
~
I begin by standing at your crown chakra at the top of your head and I finish at your feet. I will mainly hold my hands above your body.
Most people find closing their eyes more comfortable.
You may experience a warm tingly sensation, slight pressure or coolness as Chi is transferred.
You may fall asleep!

Wood Therapy Massage
With its roots in both South American and ancient Eastern traditions, this massage targets stubborn knots and blocked lymph vessels by combining the rhythmic strokes of Swedish Massage and the controlled pressure of differently shaped wooden massage tools.
These wooden tools are excellent at relaxing and toning the muscles as they have rounded sides that contour and sculpt, and some have knobbly bits and move in a rolling motion ~ which is great at breaking up cellulite.
This massage boosts the circulation of blood which carries nutrients and oxygen around the body and increases detoxification of the lymphatic system ~ which assists in the recovery of tired muscles.
The treatment
I will start by massaging your back and the backs of your legs with Grapeseed Oil ~ which is rich in Vitamin E and Omega-6 and using Swedish massage techniques before introducing a range of wooden massage tools.
After you have turned over I will massage the front of your legs and feet, your arms and hands.
If comfortable for you, I will include a short treatment on your abdomen to aid digestion.
I will finish with a gentle neck, face and scalp treatment which releases tension in the jaw and helps deter tension and sinus headaches, by soothing the network of nerve endings and blood vessels in these areas which are often constricted due to stress, posture, over exertion and over thinking!

Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is the basis of all of my treatments and uses five specific techniques to generate deep relaxation; the gliding strokes of Effleurage, the gentle kneading of Petrissage, the circular motion of Friction, the hand cupping and finger tip drumming sensation of Tapotement, and the soft shaking movements of Vibration.
Swedish massage effectively releases tension from muscles which improves mobility in joints.
The treatment
This is a full body treat that starts with you lying on your front and ends wi
th a relaxing neck, face and scalp massage.

Hot Stone Massage
A Hot Stone Massage alleviates deep tension in the muscles and surrounding fascia fibres whilst boosting blood and lymph flow to deeply detoxify and nourish your body.
The use of hot stones originated from Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical system. They have been used throughout Asia for thousands of years to ease health imbalance.
The treatment
I start by placing heated stones upon a towel along your spine to relax your core and massage the backs of your legs and the soles of your feet.
I will then remove the stones and towel from your spine and massage your back and shoulders with freshly warmed stones.
After you turn over, I place stones on your Heart centre and Solar Plexus and some smaller stones on cotton pads above your eyes.
I will massage the front of your legs then place smaller stones between your toes so that the warmth lingers longer as I massage your arms and hands.
I end this treatment with a restorative face, neck and scalp massage using both fingertips and stones.
This can improve skin tone, reduce puffiness and encourage circulation to the hair follicles to help it shine!
If you do not wish to have your scalp massaged this is fine just let me know.
If you would rather have your face massaged without stones this is also your choice. It is all your choice I am simply here to help you feel less tense!

Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is another treatment that has been used around the world combines the soothing benefits of Swedish Massage with the use of blended aromatic essential oils chosen for their therapeutic effect they can ease the mind, open up breathing airways, help to clear sinus problems, reduce inflammation, boost circulation, lower blood pressure and remove anxiety tension for the duration of the treatment!
Essential oils are the concentrate of plant extracts made by steaming or pressing the flowers, stems and leaves of selected plants proven over centuries to positively impact the limbic system of our brains.
Once inhaled, the scent molecules travel via the nose and the olfactory nerves straight to the amygdala ~ which is the emotional center of the brain that processes anxiety and fear and regulates stress and memory.
The limbic system controls unconscious physiological functions such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure making it the hub of our well-being.
Massage and aroma help us to let go of physical and emotional tension and feel a little calmer and more resilient.
The benefits of the essential oils range from anti inflammatory, invigorating, aiding in digestion and clearing sinuses, calming the nervous system and helping the body absorb nutrients which support our bones and tissues as some examples. A blended oil will contain top, middle and base scent notes.
Top scent notes tend to be invigorating and zingy like lemon or cooling like peppermint, middle notes are more floral and warming like rosemary and lavender, and the base notes are deeper, grounding and often woody like Frankincense.
Aroma therapy works by massaging with a combination of these three 'scent notes' chosen for their appropriate healing properties and how they compliment each other.
This has been a form of natural medicine for body and soul for centuries.
The treatment
This treatment is a full body Swedish massage incorporating essential oils selected to help you cope with any adverse physical, emotional and mental symptoms you may be experiencing.
The massage will start with you lying on your front and will end with a face, scalp, neck and shoulder massage.

Tips
It can be common that the following 24-48 hours after a massage to develop mild temporary tenderness in areas of the body that have been treated.
Due to the body's lymphatic and renal system being stimulated you may find you have the need for increased urination and bowel movements. It is helpful to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and to rehydrate regardless of how many trips to the toilet!
Try and avoid strenuous exercise or hot showers immediately after a treatment and avoid going to the gym or eating a big meal directly before arriving for a treatment.

Balance is not about perfection or continual stillness, it requires continual adjustment to achieve better harmony.
Through a process called homeostasis the body is forever being regulated via temperature, hormones, fluid and nutrient intake, movement and rest.
When our physical, mental and emotional well being is out of balance we often experience forms of burn out such as increased or depleted appetite, poor hydration, mood swings, lack of focus, headaches and general muscle discomfort.
Massage and energy healing help to restore your natural equilibrium.
